The Story

During the Persian New Year season, Snappfood wanted to capture the festive spirit of Nowruz while keeping its users actively engaged on the app and website. They approached us with a simple but powerful request: design a gamified campaign that celebrated tradition, rewarded participation, and drove more orders during the holiday rush.

We created 8 Sin, an interactive digital experience inspired by the beloved Haft‑sin table, a core part of Nowruz celebrations. The concept was simple yet captivating: users could collect eight symbolic items by completing holiday‑themed activities, such as placing food orders, visiting special product pages, and engaging with Snappfood’s seasonal content.

Each completed “sin” unlocked rewards such as vouchers, discounts, and high‑value prizes with bigger bonuses for users who completed all eight. To add excitement, we integrated time‑limited challenges and festive animations that brought the spirit of Nowruz directly into users’ screens.

Technically, the challenge was ensuring smooth gameplay across mobile and desktop while handling high traffic volumes during peak ordering hours. Our development team optimized the game’s load times, built a responsive UI, and ensured secure reward tracking for thousands of simultaneous users.

The results were remarkable: app traffic surged, seasonal orders saw a noticeable lift, and Snappfood’s 8 Sin campaign became a highlight of its Nowruz marketing, blending cultural joy with Shegerfist’s signature gamification craftsmanship.
