The Story

When the excitement of the FIFA World Cup swept across the globe, Digikala saw an opportunity to connect with its community through the universal language of competition. They approached us with a clear goal: design a digital game that captured the thrill of the tournament, drove platform engagement, and gave users a reason to return every day.

Our solution was Card Bazi, a nostalgic, multiplayer card game inspired by collectible sports cards and the competitive atmosphere of the Cup. Players collected virtual player cards by completing actions on Digikala’s platform: making purchases, engaging with featured content, and participating in special promotions.

The gameplay encouraged strategic thinking. Players could trade, exchange, and compete against others to complete special card sets. Completing sets unlocked valuable rewards, from exclusive coupons to high‑value prizes tied to the excitement of the World Cup.

From a technical standpoint, one of the biggest challenges was ensuring seamless multiplayer interactions across devices, while maintaining the fast, responsive interface crucial for competitive play. Our team implemented server‑client architecture that kept gameplay smooth and fair, even when thousands of players participated simultaneously.

The campaign delivered big wins: user activity on the platform spiked throughout the tournament, the game became a community talking point, and Card Bazi proved that gamification can turn a seasonal marketing opportunity into a deeply engaging customer experience.
